THE PACIFIC COLLECTION

 

The Pacific Collection - a series of lounge style posters in the funky design of 70th.
The Collection is a stylistic mix of Pop-Art and "Bijinga" a generic term for pictures of beautiful women in Japanese art.

Inspired by the great times of the Pop-Art culture and the tradition of Japanese woodblock prints the Pacific Collection is fusion of western and eastern styles.

The concept of depicting a seductive women and emphasize the simple grace and beauty of the female form by reduceing the color pallete, simplifying and removing elements resulting with an image that looks flat and two dimensianal with sharp linear geometric simplicity and stylized figures silhouetted against a neutral background.

In the tradition of Japanese woodblock prints known as ukiyo-e, or "pictures of the Floating World", Bijinga is a generic term for pictures of beautiful women in Japanese art. Usually depicted a woman wearing a kimono.
